Why is my"Check Engine" light on?
A
check engine light could be many things. For the most
part a check engine light deals with the Emission
Controls on your car. It will alert you if there is
a problem(or potential problem) with you car not meeting
emissions standards. The problem could be anything
from a loose gas-cap to a faulty air-flow sensor affects
the fuel mixture which is read by the O2 (oxygen)
sensors.
"Many"
times a check engine light will signify something
that isn't going to immediately affect how your car
drives, but don't treat it too lightly. Stop by our
shop during normal hours and we'd be glad to do a
test and help you determine the problem and possibly
reset the light. Many times when a check engine light
is reset, it will come back again. At this point we
look for a repeated problem to help you repair.
What Is a Bosch Service Center?
We're often suprised at how many customers don't know
we service cars. Servicing Mercedes, BMW,
Lexus and Volvo are 90% of what we do! Not
only that, we're the Northshore's only Bosch Service
Center.
Bosch is named for Robert Bosch whose company invented
and produce most of the electronics for many vehicles
and automakers worldwide(especially German automobiles).
A Bosch service center strives for a higher standard
in service to the customer. We accomplish this by
understanding how modern cars' complex systems work.
We can use this knowledge to diagnose the problem
and translate it to the customer in a way that is
easy to understand.
